A 19-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound outside a house party early Friday morning in the Vancouver area, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.At about 1:45 a.m., the shooting victim was dropped off at the emergency room of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical center with a gunshot wound, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. The man was treated and released.The man was shot outside a large party in a house in the 4800 block of Northeast 58th Street, according to the sheriff’s office. Law enforcement blocked 58th Street near the scene while they conduct their investigation, which included interviews. “There is no reason to believe this incident poses any threat to the community,” according to the news release.The sheriff’s office did not release the name of the shooting victim or any information about a possible suspect.Peacehealth, following standard procedure, went on lockdown after the gunshot victim arrived at the hospital, according to hospital spokesman Randy Querin. After the security team was informed that a gunshot victim arrived in the emergency department, they decided to go into lockdown because they didn’t know the identity or motive of the shooter. The precaution is taken in case the shooter is at large, possibly wanting to finish the assault at the hospital, Querin said. “We continue our emergency department operations, but in-and-out is secured,” he said.Armed personnel guard the door and wave a metal detector wand over people wanting to come inside.
